FAUX-AMIS D’ORIGINE FRANÇAISE EN ROUMAIN

Abstract

In this article we have focused on the false friends (faux-amis) of some Romanian words of French origin and on the situations in which they can be found in the users’ vocabulary. Over time, false friends have become a quite common linguistic phenomenon, especially among people who are not proficient in a foreign language. Some of the improperly used words are sometimes funny for the native speakers.
